Registered Nurse - PCU @ Westmoreland Hospital

<p><strong>RN Position Job Notes:</strong></p> <p>Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.</p> <p><strong>Opportunity:</strong></p><p>Registered Nurse - PCU</p><p><strong>Job Details:</strong></p><p>• Night shift position in Progressive Care Unit (PCU)<br>• Patient ratio of 6-7 patients during nights and weekends<br>• Weekend coverage required<br>• 12 hours orientation provided<br>• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required<br>• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS<br>• Valid PA License or Compact License required at time of submission<br>• Care for adult and geriatric patients with medical conditions<br>• Primary diagnoses include CHF, new onset AFib, COPD, and pneumonia<br>• Handle mostly medical PCU patients with some overflow med/surg patients<br>• Float within hospital when needed<br>• May be asked to float to sister facilities within 10-mile radius<br>• Extensive skills required including cardiac telemetry, arterial line management, chest tubes, central line care, and various cardiac procedures<br>• Must complete fingerprinting within 24-48 hours of signing<br>• Required to complete 15-panel drug screen within 24-48 hours<br>• All travelers must be cleared by Wednesday before start date<br>• Clock in/out using badge with supervisor approval for timesheets</p><p><strong>Facility:</strong></p><p>This healthcare facility operates a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit providing intermediate-level care for patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical floors but not intensive care. The unit features comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
