Med Surg RN Job in Saint Louis, MO

Mercy Hospital South in Saint Louis, Missouri is seeking a registered nurse for an 8 East Neuro Med Surg position. This is a 13-week travel assignment working 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. You will earn $1,971 weekly and have the flexibility to choose between 36 or 48 guaranteed hours per week.

Position Overview

You will provide direct patient care across all age groups, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Your responsibilities include caring for patients recovering from trauma, surgical interventions, and those managing medical comorbidities. You will coordinate care with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort. Patient ratios vary throughout your shift, and you may float to similar or lower acuity units as needed.

Schedule and Environment

You will work every other weekend as required by the facility with no call requirements. Night shift nurses orient on day shift and must be available the entire week for orientation. The work is physically demanding, requiring you to stand and walk most of the time with significant bending, stooping, lifting, and turning patients with assistance. You will use the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Requirements

• Current RN license (Missouri eligible or currently licensed in Missouri)
• Minimum 1 year Med Surg inpatient experience required
• 1 year Neuro experience preferred
• BLS certification from AHA required
• ACLS certification from AHA preferred
• Flu vaccination required from November 1 through April 1
• Black scrubs required; no other colors acceptable
