NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Job Details:

• NICU Level II & III experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; 1 year may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:2, 1:3, or 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• Weekend coverage required; 3 weekend shifts per contract for regular positions, every weekend for weekend positions
• Float to Pediatrics required
• Late stay may be required as needed
• 36 orientation hours
• Unit consists of 35 beds with 22 intensive/intermediate beds and 10 beds in back nursery; open bay floor plan
• Daily census of 29 patients; neonatal patient population ranging from 23 weeks gestation to term
• Common patient diagnoses include prematurity, respiratory distress, glucose management of late preterm, chorioamnionitis, and retinopathy of prematurity
• Special equipment includes HFOV and Nava
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
• Epic charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, Stable
• Skills required: Conscious Sedation, Ventilator management
• Pass/Fail testing at orientation: Cardiac Dysrhythmia Test required for all units
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial submission
• Attendance policy in effect: more than two missed shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract cancellation
