Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Travel experience required
• Patient population ranges from pediatrics to geriatrics
• Patient ratio of 1:4 with 14 beds
• Every other weekend coverage required
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th–12th)
• Holiday work expectations: if 1–2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2
• Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Possibility of floating to a nearby campus approximately 3 miles away
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
• Required charting system: Epic; also uses Pyxis, SBAR, and Spacelabs
• Required skills include: arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA management, general emergency department (combined adult/pedi), ICP monitoring, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV vasopressors, neuro-trauma, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, triage, traumatic brain injury management
• Preferred experience: charge nurse, community hospital, Trauma Level I and II
• Interdisciplinary support available: respiratory services, radiology, and pharmacy
• No IV team on site; wound care is conducted virtually
• No cafeteria on site; vending machines available for meal options
• Parts of orientation will take place at the main campus approximately 3 miles away
• Orientation hours: 40 hours
• GA or compact nursing license required
