PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll join Mission Hospital's Progressive Care Unit (D2), a 20-bed unit serving mixed-acuity patients including medical-surgical and step-down cases. This is a 3x12 night shift role (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) on a backfill basis, running 91 days starting June 29, 2026.

Your responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care with ratios of 1:5 or 1:6 depending on level of acuity
• Manage short-stay patients with rapid turnover (less than 24-hour lengths of stay)
• Monitor all patients on telemetry via hardwired bedside monitors
• Float to other units as staffing needs require
• Document and communicate using the Cerner EMR system

Schedule and staffing:

Night shift includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, and 2 CNAs. Every other weekend is required; no on-call responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Telemetry competency and progressive care experience
• Recent progressive care experience preferred
