RN - Cath Lab

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with ASAP start
• 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Call requirement: Travelers will take call for 7 consecutive days every other week; weekday call hours are 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with 24-hour call coverage on weekends
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of pediatric Cath Lab experience
• Pediatric or adult acute care RN experience required
• Must be comfortable working in a pediatric Cath Lab environment
• Experience with cardiac procedures, pre-operative and post-operative care, medication administration, IV drips, invasive lines, EKG interpretation, and patient monitoring preferred
• Must be proficient with electronic medical records; Cerner experience is required
• BSN, CPN, or equivalent pediatric certification preferred
• Must provide family-centered care and work collaboratively with physicians, anesthesia, ICU, Child Life, Med-Surg, and other interdisciplinary teams
• Responsibilities include completing pre-operative assessments, verifying consents and documentation, preparing patients for procedures, administering medications, monitoring vital signs and cardiac rhythms, managing IV drips and invasive lines, assisting with anesthesia and patient emergence, supporting sterile procedures, documenting care in the electronic medical record, and completing discharge planning
• Continuously monitor patients throughout procedures, identify changes in condition, and communicate findings to the physician and interdisciplinary team
• Provide patient and family education, complete accurate handoffs, and support Universal Protocol and surgical safety standards
• All requested time off must be included at the time of submission and approved by the facility
• Active Florida RN license or active eNLC/multistate RN license required; pending license not accepted
• Required certifications: BLS, PALS, and ACLS through the American Heart Association
• Skills required include diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, left and right heart catheterization, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
