Medical Lab Technician

Opportunity:

Medical Technologist - Medical Lab Technician (MLT) / Medical Technologist (MT)

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with an anticipated start as soon as possible
• Day shift schedule with every 4th weekend required
• 40 guaranteed hours per week
• No float requirements and no on-call or call-back responsibilities
• Work independently during weekday hours from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM and weekend hours from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM
• Perform basic lab tech duties including running tests and phlebotomy - phlebotomy skills are a must
• Perform hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, immunoassay, blood bank, and specimen processing
• Set up cultures for microbiology and perform gram staining - full microbiology work not required
• Perform calibrations, quality control, and routine maintenance
• Generalist background required with the ability to perform all needed tasks independently
• 2-3 weeks of training and orientation provided, dependent on experience
• Required certifications: MLT or MT by ASCP, BLS
• Required education: Associate or Bachelor's Degree
• Minimum 1 year of core lab experience required
• Charting and equipment: LIS - Sunquest (highly preferred), EPIC for medical records, Heme-Sysmex, Chem-Roche BI, Blood Bank-Ortho Gel, Coag-Stago, Urine-Clinitek BI, Gas-Radiometer
• Scrub colors: Any, as long as clean and presentable
• Must be a hard worker, resilient, manage change well, and be socially engaged
• Contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
