PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - Post Anesthesia

Job Details:

• Day/Night rotation with variable start times of 7:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 7:00 PM
• 48-hour contracts available
• Care for patients recovering from a wide variety of surgical procedures including vascular (carotids/AAA repairs), general, thoracic (esophagectomy), gynecology, neuro (craniotomy for tumor/neurostimulators/modified radical neck with trach), orthopedic, kidney transplants, and Whipple procedures
• Must be familiar with ventricular drains (ICP monitoring not performed in PACU - patients requiring ICP go directly to ICU)
• Must be proficient with arterial lines and central lines
• Must be familiar with vasoactive and sedative drips
• Must be comfortable managing chest tubes and trachs
• High acuity, high volume PACU environment with controlled chaos during evening hours
• PACU overnight boarders regularly include ICU craniotomy, step-down, and med-surg patients
• Previous ICU and/or high acuity PACU experience strongly preferred
