ICU RN Job in Pittsburg, Kansas

Mercy Hospital Pittsburg is seeking a registered nurse for our ICU - Intensive Care Unit. You'll work in a combined 12-bed ICU and 6-bed stepdown unit, managing acute and critical care patients with a focus on high-quality nursing practice.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Work 3 twelve-hour day shifts per week with 36 guaranteed hours
• Manage ICU patients with a ratio of 1:2–3 depending on acuity, and stepdown patients at 1:4
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions using the EPIC electronic medical record system
• Coordinate care plans with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Implement and communicate physician and nursing orders
• Use Spacelab bedside monitors for continuous patient assessment on both ICU and stepdown beds
• Collaborate with teleICU providers who monitor ICU beds 24/7 in addition to on-site providers
• Assist with discharge planning and coordination
• Float as needed within the facility and manage overflow patients
• Serve as a primary care coordinator to ensure well-coordinated patient outcomes

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• 1 or more years of nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• Black scrubs required per dress code policy
