NICU RN Job in Austin, TX

Join North Austin Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the NICU for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts weekly from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, caring for Level 3-4 neonatal patients in a 97-bed unit.

Role Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Level 3 NICU experience
• Current NRP and BLS certifications
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Weekend coverage required; no on-call duties

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Manage a patient ratio of 3-4 neonates per shift
• Operate specialized equipment including Medfusion pumps, Alaris infusion systems, Giraffe isolettes, and GE monitors
• Document care using CPN and Meditech EMR systems
• Collaborate with RNs and unit clerks to provide coordinated patient care
• Deliver compassionate, attentive nursing to critically ill neonates and their families

Unit Expectations

• Navy scrubs required
• No nail polish or artificial nails permitted
• Professional, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills

• Duration: 91 days (13 weeks)
• Weekly pay: $1,839.60
• Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
