Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours per week offered
• Contract length of 13 to 26 weeks available
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6; must be comfortable taking up to 6 patients during surge
• Every other weekend required, plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period
• On-call required; frequency depends on patient census
• Float requirement applies
• No block scheduling
• Self-scheduling with oversight from leadership to balance as needed
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; must have similar experience with ratios and acuity
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates accepted
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required skills include IV start, telemetry, pre and post procedure cardiac patient care, cardiac drips, and PCI
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone required
• Experience with pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillators, cardiac catheterization, and TR bands required
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced unit that turns over 78 to 90 patients per week
• High-level telemetry unit; PCU experience preferred but not required
• Epic (Dimensions) charting system; experience preferred
• Medication system: Pyxis; communication method: SBAR
• Special equipment includes telemetry, pulse ox, high flow O2, non-rebreather mask, and BiPAP (chronic use only)
• 36-hour orientation; must be available every day during week one for hospital orientation
• Dress code: Navy blue or white scrubs; Novant t-shirts allowed; jackets must match uniform color and material (no fleece); no crocs with holes
