Physical Therapist Inpatient Rehab Job in Lafayette, LA

Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center is seeking a Physical Therapist for inpatient rehabilitation. You'll work day shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with 8 weekend shifts required over the contract period. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services to patients across all age groups: adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Specialize in acute care, gait training, post-stroke rehabilitation, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injury
• Deliver cardiopulmonary care and neurology-focused interventions
• Perform strength testing, vital sign monitoring, and patient/family education
• Assess and recommend assistive and adaptive devices
• Work with a staffing ratio of 1:14 during day shifts
• Chart using Epic (preferred)

Requirements

• Current Louisiana State License
• BLS certification
• 2 years of clinical experience
• First-time travelers welcome
• Preferred experience in trauma, stroke, and ICU settings

Support and Resources

You'll have access to interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary staff to ensure coordinated patient care.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,391 for this 5×8 day-shift schedule.
