Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• 4 total weekend shifts required per 4 weeks (minimum 1 weekend per month)
• Holiday shifts worked into rotation based on unit coverage
• 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio on 32-bed Oncology Acute Tele unit
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; Chemo certification preferred
• Must pass DYS exam prior to accepting position (2 attempts allowed)
• Complete pass/fail exam on day 1 of orientation
• Must complete SIMs Lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (pass/fail requirement)
• Must maintain sterile field during procedures
• Charge nurse duties with light patient assignment as oncology resource RN
• Float to other Med Surg/Tele units as needed
• 2-day floor-specific orientation
• Use Cerner EMR system and Phillips telemetry equipment
• Interpret EKGs and work with BiPap/CPAP ventilators
• Care for 85% oncology patients and 15% tele med-surg patients
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
• Must have own vehicle, natural hair color, no facial piercings
• Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing
• Navy scrubs required
