About this role
You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St Josephs Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a 56-week travel assignment beginning July 6, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,268.
Shift and Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- 3 shifts per week
- Every 3rd weekend required; 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
- 3 of 6 major holidays required based on unit coverage
- Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment
Role Responsibilities
You will care for complex NICU patients including premature infants, cardiac defects, genetic disorders, surgical cases, ECMO, and cooling patients. Patient ratios are 1:2 in ICU and 1:3 in Level 2. You may float to mother-baby and labor care for babies only when needed.
Required Experience and Credentials
- Minimum 3 years of NICU experience with at least 2 years of Level 4 experience
- BLS, NRP, and Cardiac STABLE Plus certifications
- Previous travel experience preferred
Orientation and Support
You will complete a Day 1 pass/fail SIMs Lab covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes, followed by 2–3 days of floor-specific orientation. The unit includes 71 beds with 17 stepdown beds and 4 private rooms. You will work alongside Neonatologists and midlevels available 24/7, Respiratory Therapists available 24/7, and NICU Pharmacy available during the day. One Patient Care Technician per shift provides nurse aide support.
