Respiratory Therapist Job in Odessa, TX

You will work as a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Medical Center Hospital, a Level 3 Trauma center functioning as Level 2. This is a 91-day travel assignment on a 3x12 nights schedule, starting May 12, 2026. You'll earn $1,918.08 weekly.

Your Role

You will provide respiratory care across adult medical/surgical, adult critical care, and general pediatric patients. You'll work with all pulmonary processes, including trauma patients. Block scheduling of 3–4 shifts in a row may be available. Weekend coverage is required; you'll work 9 weekend shifts per contract. One pre-approved time off request is allowed per contract.

Required Qualifications

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) certification—CRT not accepted
• Current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• Flu vaccine required; medical and religious exemptions allowed

Preferred Qualifications

• Travel healthcare experience
• Previous charge experience
• Cerner charting system experience
• Community hospital and trauma level experience

Clinical Requirements

You must be comfortable working with all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. You'll be proficient with jet and oscillatory ventilation, PB 980 ventilators, V-60 for noninvasive ventilation, nitric oxide delivery systems, and iSTAT point-of-care blood gas analysis. The facility has a Level 3 NICU.

Support Provided

You will receive 24 hours of orientation to acclimate to the facility and its systems.
