ED RN Job in Corpus Christi, TX

Join Bay Area Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This is a 13-week travel assignment running 3 days per week (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) starting June 29, 2026, with weekly pay of $1,708.20.

About the Role

You will work in a 16-bed emergency department with 8 additional hall chairs, caring for patients across all acuity levels (ESI 1 through 5). Your responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, IV insertion, lab draws, wound care, splinting, urine collection, and direct documentation in the Meditech EMR system. You will maintain a patient ratio of 1:4, though you may care for up to 6 patients depending on acuity. Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4–5 nurses (one mid-shift), 1 unit secretary, and 1–2 techs.

Requirements

• Current RN license
• Level II or Level III trauma experience required
• Greater than two years of emergency department experience preferred
• Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, and BLS
• Preferred certifications: CEN or TCRN, CPI

Key Details

• Mandatory shift huddle attendance at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM (unless providing critical care)
• EMTALA training is mandatory
• Equipment includes cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Tonopen, and additional monitoring systems
• Vital signs flow directly into the Meditech chart
• Scrub color preference: Royal Blue
• Sunday team spirit attire encouraged (team jersey optional)
