First Assist Technician Job in Las Vegas, NV

You will work as a First Assist Technician in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) at Mountainview Hospital NV. This is a 13-week travel position running Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with on-call responsibilities after hours and on weekends on a rotating schedule.

Your Role

You will function as a First Assistant in a specialized 3-bed cardiovascular unit alongside a team of 15 staff members. You will maintain a 1:1 patient ratio and assist with a variety of procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG), valve procedures, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) standby, laser lead standby, thoracic robotic-assisted procedures, and general emergent open-heart surgery. You may float to the main OR as needed to support hospital operations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Vein harvesting capabilities and demonstrated competency in independent vein procurement using the Maquet Hemopro 2 system
• Prior CVOR experience is mandatory—candidates without this background will not be considered
• Ability to function independently and competently as a First Assistant
• Current BLS certification
• Current CST (Certified Surgical Technician) credential

What to Expect

You will work 5 eight-hour shifts per week. Hospital scrubs are required as your dress code. The position begins September 14, 2026, and runs for 91 days. Your weekly pay is $3,650.
