About this role
You'll work as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 15, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts (6:45 PM–7:15 AM) and weekly pay of $1,918.44.
Role Scope
You will care for patients in a high-volume emergency department that sees over 100,000 visits annually. Your typical patient ratio is 4:1 medical, though behavioral hold patients may increase this to 7:1. You'll float across all sections of the emergency department and work every other weekend with flexible scheduling as department needs require. You are expected to use AIDET patient experience standards and maintain respectful, professional behavior with colleagues and patients.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Current RN license
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an emergency room setting
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications before your start date
- TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Previous Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center experience preferred
Clinical Environment & Support
The department uses Baxter infusion pumps, GE patient monitors, and Cerner for documentation. Techs provide support in cardiac monitoring, triage, and internal processing areas. Unit clerks are available during both day and night shifts to help manage workflow and administrative tasks.
Expectations
You will demonstrate strong teamwork mentality and ability to coach colleagues with real-time feedback. Navy scrubs are required as the dress code. This role requires you to work collaboratively and adapt to the fast-paced, high-acuity environment typical of a busy emergency department.
