Med/Surg RN Job in St Johnsbury, VT

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for its Medical/Surgical unit in St Johnsbury, Vermont. This 91-day travel assignment offers a day shift schedule working primarily with adult patients and occasional pediatric cases in a 25-bed critical access hospital environment.

About the Role

You will provide comprehensive medical, surgical, outpatient, observation, swing bed, and pediatric care on the general Med/Surg unit. Your responsibilities include coordinating exceptional patient care using a holistic nursing approach, addressing patients' age, physiological, spiritual, psychosocial, and developmental needs. You will work closely with the Clinical Nurse Lead and Nursing Supervisor during shifts and utilize the nursing process to make critical care decisions.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3x12 day shifts per week
• $2,154.96 weekly pay
• Assignment begins June 2, 2026
• Travelers start on Wednesdays; during orientation week, 48-hour contract travelers are guaranteed 36 hours due to midweek start

Requirements

• Current Vermont RN licensure or multi-state RN licensure required
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience
• BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS certification required prior to start
• Meditech experience preferred
• Upload all required credentials five business days before start date

This is a general Med/Surg floor with occasional pediatric patients, not a pediatric-only unit. You will work in a collaborative acute care environment where your clinical judgment and patient-centered approach contribute directly to quality outcomes.
