PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wheeling, WV

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM with day/night rotation
• Must be on unit ready to go by 6:45 AM/PM
• Weekend requirements include working Friday/Saturday/Sunday shifts
• Night shift requires 4 weekend nights per 4-week schedule
• Day shift requires 4 weekend days per 4-week schedule plus minimum 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule
• Self-scheduling allowed as long as unit needs are met
• Staff allowed 4 requested days off per month
• Patient ratios: Goal is 1:4, usually 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Required to float to Telemetry or Medical/Surgical units as needed with ratios up to 1:6-7
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Required to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Labetalol, Nitro, Heparin, and occasionally Lasix
• Manage patients with chest pain, rule out MI, CHF, arrhythmias, post-pacemaker, pre/post cardiac catheterizations
• Handle radial band management and removal, groin checks, and Tikosyn therapy patients
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Use EPIC charting system and Nihon Kohden telemetry monitors
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs (top and bottom) with navy scrub jackets, no hoodies
• Copy of unexpired driver's license required with submission
• Zero tolerance cancellation policy - 2 occurrences of tardiness or call-offs results in termination
• 2-day orientation: First day includes 4 hours with HR and 8 hours on unit with preceptor, second day on unit with preceptor
