ICU Registered Nurse Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week ICU assignment. You will work 3x12 hour day shifts and earn $1,900.80 per week. The assignment begins May 11, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide total patient care in the ICU with a patient ratio of 1:2–3. Your responsibilities include ventilator management, administration of titratable drips, medication preparation, and comprehensive patient hygiene care. You will have no call responsibilities.

Floating Responsibilities

Floating to the Emergency Room and Medical Surgical departments is required. When in the ER, you will assist with call lights, medication administration, patient transport, IV starts, and blood draws. When floating to Medical Surgical, you will take a full assignment of up to 6 patients or serve as an aide for up to 12 patients. A float rotation system with a log book is maintained within the ICU.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• 2+ years of ICU experience
• Emergency Room and Medical Surgical experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC certification preferred
• Fingerprint clearance for New Mexico travelers

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ventilators, titratable drips, and medication mixing
• Patient hygiene and total care protocols
