About this role

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at UTMB Jennie Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas. This is a 91-day travel position with a 4x10 day-shift schedule, earning $3,024 per week.

Role and Schedule

  • Work 10-hour day shifts, typically Monday through Friday
  • 40 guaranteed hours per week
  • On-call duty approximately 10–14 days per 6-week period, including roughly 2 weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday)
  • Holiday coverage possible with late-day shifts for final cases
  • May float between three campuses: Galveston, League City, or Clear Lake based on patient census and needs

Responsibilities

  • Perform circulator, monitor, scrub, and recovery area duties independently
  • Demonstrate competency in Cardiac Catheterization and EP procedures and equipment
  • Identify cardiac rhythms, waveforms, and abnormal ranges; take appropriate interventions
  • Work with mechanical ventilators, IABP, Impella, cardiac implants, and EP ablation equipment
  • Manage routine radiation exposure (20 lb lead apron and protective devices required)
  • Document in EPIC charting system

Requirements

  • Current Texas RN license
  • 3+ years of RN experience
  • Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience required
  • EP training in hemodynamics and EP Studies required
  • Cath Lab/EP Recovery experience required
  • BLS certification through American Heart Association
  • Preferred: CVRNII or higher, CCRN, RCIS, or RCES certification
  • Black scrubs required

Work Environment

This is a high-stress environment with unpredictable hours to complete procedures. You'll work alongside interventional cardiologists and electrophysiologists in a fast-paced setting. Radiation exposure and prolonged standing are routine aspects of the role.
