About this role
St Michael Medical Center is seeking a registered nurse for its 56-bed emergency department in Silverdale, Washington. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 24, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,408.
Role Details
You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. The schedule includes every other weekend requirement. Holiday coverage is required in November and December; your manager may consider accommodation for 1 of 3 holidays if unit demands permit. No on-call, standby, or floating requirements apply, and extra shifts are available but optional.
Clinical Responsibilities
You will manage patients at a 1:3 ratio, or 1:4 for low-acuity cases. Your patient population will include cardiac, stroke, sepsis, DKA, altered mental status, respiratory conditions, abdominal pain, and mental health cases. You will perform blood draws (nurse or ED tech level), read telemetry strips with monitor tech support, utilize Epic EMR for charting, and work collaboratively with ED physicians, mid-level providers, charge nurses, house supervisors, ED techs, and CNAs.
Requirements
- Current Washington state or Compact nursing license
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a larger trauma setting
- ACLS and BLS certifications
- TNCC certification
- PALS or ENPC certification
- NIHSS certification
Onboarding
Orientation consists of one 8–10 hour compliance day and one 12-hour department orientation day. No request time off (RTO) will be approved during your first full week of assignment. Professional scrub colors of any style are required.
The department is expanding from 56 to 60–70 beds, including hall bed capacity. This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic emergency medicine environment with established protocols and team support.
