About this role
You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, caring for critically ill patients with complex medical and surgical conditions. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting June 22, 2026.
Shift & Schedule
- 4x12-hour night shifts with weekday and every-other-weekend coverage
- Overtime billed after 48 hours per week on the 4x12 schedule
- Weekly pay: $2,937.60
Clinical Responsibilities
- Care for post-neurosurgical patients, EVD management, and stroke patients
- Manage patients with respiratory failure, renal failure, trauma, sepsis, and cardiac conditions
- Patient ratios of 1:2–3
- Float to Step-Down Unit required; may also float to ED or Med-Surg for ICU patients being held
- Proficiency required: mechanical ventilation, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation
Required Qualifications
- RN license (VA or Compact state license in hand at submittal)
- 3 years critical care experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience will be considered
- BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS certifications
- EPIC proficiency (no exceptions)
- Pass EKG testing with 80% or higher on first attempt only; no remediation
- Strong neuro experience required
- Travel experience preferred
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Complete 3 hours of pre-start modules before your first shift
- No license or background hits will be considered
