Med Surg RN Job in Anniston, AL

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 30-bed Medical Surgical unit at RMC Anniston, caring for adult and geriatric patients. This is a night shift role with an every-other-weekend schedule, or you may opt for 4x12 hour shifts if preferred. Your assignment runs for 8 weeks, starting May 4, 2026.

Shift and Compensation

• 3x12 night shifts (or 4x12 option available)
• $1,944 weekly pay
• Every-other-weekend schedule
• 30-minute required lunch break; no skipped meals

Your Responsibilities

You will manage a patient ratio of 1:6 adults and geriatric patients. Float assignments to like units may occur. You may assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed. Clinical skills required include IV starts, isolation precautions, wound care and wound vac management, blood product administration, colostomy and ileostomy care, feeding tube management, heparin and insulin administration, PCA pumps, PICC line management, and surgical drain care.

Requirements

• Current Alabama nursing license
• Current BLS certification via AHA
• Fit Test completion
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• NIH stroke scale certification preferred
• Level II trauma experience preferred
• Travel healthcare experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred

Facility Support

You will work alongside an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. You must adhere to the facility's call-in and attendance policies. Local candidates within a 60-mile radius of Anniston are considered.
