CVOR RN Job in Colorado Springs, CO

Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 19, 2026, offering 3x12 rotating shifts at $2,562 weekly pay.

Role and Responsibilities

• Work 10-hour shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with shift times negotiable
• Scrub for open heart cases, including holding the heart and assisting with chest closure
• Support approximately 30 OR cases daily across 16 suites, including 1–2 cardiac cases per day
• Float to General OR when CVOR cases are not scheduled or to Zone 1 facilities in cases of extreme need
• Manage call requirements: one weekday per week and one weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in rotation, with 30-minute response time; on-site call room available
• Holiday call not required but preferred if available

Experience and Qualifications

• Open heart experience and/or endovascular experience required
• BLS (AHA) certification required; ACLS preferred
• BSN not required
• Must reside within 60 miles of the facility; driver's license required

Assignment Details

• One week of unit-specific orientation required; you must be present in state during this week, though first-day modules may be remote
• Common cases include open heart, TAVR, open/endovascular, and thoracic procedures
• Charting system: Epic
• Hospital-provided scrubs in light blue
