PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Continuously monitor vital signs including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and temperature as patients recover from anesthesia
• Ensure a patent airway and adequate respiratory function, intervening quickly if an obstruction or respiratory distress occurs
• Administer medications such as painkillers, anti-nausea drugs, and fluids to manage post-operative symptoms and maintain patient comfort
• Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, check dressings, and perform physical assessments
• Recognize adverse reactions to anesthesia or surgery and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
• Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare team members regarding patient condition and care plans
• On-call responsibilities required
• Weekend shifts required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA)
• Michigan nursing license required
