Med Surg RN Job in Kingsport, TN

Holston Valley Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical nursing. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 36/36 schedule with every other weekend required. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting July 5, 2026.

Role Details:

• Maintain 1:7 patient ratios with no call responsibilities
• Float to other units as needed
• 24 hours of orientation provided (16 hours non-billable)
• Participate in nursing student support and clinical education
• Hospital may cancel one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases

Required Qualifications:

• Current RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• AHA BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Must live 100+ miles from facility
• First-time travelers accepted

Preferred Skills:

• Epic charting system experience
• Clinical skills: accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draws, colostomy and ileostomy care, telemetry monitoring, and IV management

Requirements:

• Flu vaccine required (medical and religious exemptions only)
• Drug test must be completed 12–14 calendar days prior to start date
• Facial hair must be trimmed for fit testing per CDC guidelines
