Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour orientation required
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• 24-bed unit with daily census of 24 patients
• Weekend coverage required with every other holiday schedule
• Float required to all other inpatient units (agency nurses are first to be pulled)
• Unable to guarantee specific scheduling requests such as block scheduling
• Must maintain 65+ miles distance from facility to qualify as traveler
• 2 years of Med Surg Tele experience required
• No call-ins policy strictly enforced
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS
• Must have Compact or Louisiana license in hand upon submission
• NURSYS reports required (must be current within 4 weeks of submission)
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, PVD, arrhythmias, DM, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, hypertension, MI, renal failure, PE, CHF, GI bleed, and syncope
• Handle pre/post cath lab procedures, PPM/AICD, ablations, and vascular surgeries
• Manage titration of cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, and heparin
• Perform sheath pulling at bedside
• Work with telemetry monitoring, chest tubes, PCAs, epidurals, and wound vacs
• Must be comfortable with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, CABG care, post angiogram procedures, port accessing, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management
• Emergency team assignment possible during facility emergencies requiring extended stay
