Med Surg RN Job in Alexandria, LA

You will provide direct patient care on a Medical-Surgical unit at CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. This is a 91-day travel assignment with the possibility of extending to permanent placement.

Role and Schedule

You will work three 12-hour day shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Weekend scheduling is based on unit need and may be required. There are no on-call responsibilities. You will care for post-surgical patients, including orthopedics and general surgery cases, with a focus on neuro populations. Your nurse-to-patient ratio will be 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing levels. Floating to other units may be required as needed.

Compensation and Duration

You will earn $2,286.36 per week. Your assignment begins June 22, 2026, and runs for 91 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided in EPIC
• Assess patient learning needs and provide education to patients, families, and caregivers
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers

Requirements

• Active RN license in Louisiana or current compact nursing license
• Current BLS certification from AHA
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty (preferred)
• EPIC experience (bonus)
