ED Nurse Job in San Francisco, CA

Sutter Health CPMC Van Ness Campus is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You'll work three 12-hour night shifts weekly from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with weekend rotation required and no on-call obligations.

Role Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience (3 years preferred)
• Travel nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• California RN licensure

Certifications Required:

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS
• PALS
• NIHSS
• TNCC

What You'll Do:

You'll manage a 4:1 patient ratio and care for patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Your responsibilities include performing clinical procedures such as IV insertion, Foley catheterization, and dressing changes. You'll use Epic for charting and maintain competency with telemonitoring, IV therapy, ventilators, and safe medication administration.

You'll recognize and respond quickly to changes in patient condition, provide effective patient and family education, and act as a patient advocate. Demonstrating understanding of evidence-based practice, pathophysiology, pharmacological implications, and regulatory requirements is essential. You'll also report errors and near misses and model safety behaviors for the team.
