Med Surg RN Job in Bismarck, ND

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 30-bed medical surgical unit at CHI St Alexius Health Bismarck Medical Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 19, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,151.36.

Schedule and Shift Details

• 3x12 night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Day/night rotation will not occur more than weekly
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday shifts as needed

Patient Care Responsibilities

You will care for patients recovering from total joint replacements, spinal surgery, urology procedures, abdominal surgery, and bariatric surgery, as well as medical overflow patients. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:5–6 on nights.

Your responsibilities include post-operative care, early ambulation support, management of hemovacs and JP drains, colostomy care, and PCA pump management. You will handle occasional heparin drips and TPN, work with nasal cannula equipment, and manage remote telemetry packs. You may float to medical and telemetry units as needed.

Requirements and Preferences

• BLS certification required
• Surgical experience preferred
• BSN not required
• First-time travelers accepted
• EPIC charting system
• Bedside shift reporting required
• Any color scrubs permitted
