RN - GI Lab

Job Details:

• Schedule is either 5x8-hour shifts or 4x10-hour shifts, to be discussed during interview
• 10-hour day shifts with call responsibilities included
• Weekly weeknight call required, with the team currently covering call approximately 1-2 weeknights per week
• Weekend call required approximately every 3 weekends
• Strong circulating and teching skills required for advanced GI procedures including EUS and ERCP
• Must be comfortable independently circulating and teching a variety of GI procedures
• Experience with ERCP (Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography) including managing specialized imaging catheters, sphincterotomy wires, and stents
• Experience with EUS (Endoscopic Ultrasound) including operating and troubleshooting ultrasound processors and assisting with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) tools for tissue biopsies
• Experience with EMR/ESD (Endoscopic Mucosal/Submucosal Resection) including setting up advanced electrocautery, injection needles, and snares
• Experience with Enteroscopy including handling specialized equipment such as balloon catheters for visualizing and treating the small bowel
• Experience with Endolumenal Surgery including assisting with endoscopic suturing, stent deployment, and Endoflip device setup
• Responsible for highly specialized, high-level disinfection and reprocessing of complex scopes in accordance with SGNA and manufacturer standards
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• BSN not required
• Must pass an open book skills exam with a score of 90% or higher during orientation
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care
