PICU Nurse Job in Charlottesville, VA

Opportunity:

RN - Critical Care Peds Float Pool

Job Details:

• Day shift position working 36 or 48 hours per week
• 13-week assignment
• Float pool position rotating to various pediatric units including PICU, NICU, Peds Med/Surg, Peds PACU, Peds ED, and Postpartum/Mother Baby
• May be required to float to Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby during staffing needs
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Up to 40 hours of PTO can be approved per contract; no PTO approved during first 2 weeks of assignment
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Must have PICU and NICU experience and be comfortable with pediatric patients
• Previous NICU/PICU float pool experience a plus
• Peds PACU experience highly preferred
• Travel experience required
• BSN preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Must adhere to float pool policy
• Virginia nursing license required; will accept pending license at time of submission
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS, PALS, and Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate (can submit with certification pending)
• Patient ratios: PICU 1:2, NICU ICU 1:2 / ICN 1:3, Acute Pediatrics 1:4-5, Peds ED variable
• Required skills include but are not limited to: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, ECMO, CRRT, IV vasopressors, pediatric dosage calculations, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and management of chest tubes
