PCU Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in a 29-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Christian Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri. This high-acuity step-down unit serves as a bridge from the ICU, caring for adult patients requiring close monitoring and skilled interventions.

Role Details

• Night shift: 3 x 12-hour shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Patient ratio: 1:4
• Every other weekend required (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday for night shift)
• Daily census: 25–29 patients

Clinical Responsibilities

You will manage ventilators, tracheostomy vents, titrate vasopressors and sedation medications, administer insulin drips, and care for arterial lines and external pacemakers. You will also manage chest tubes and BiPAP and OptiFlow systems. As needed, you may float to lower-acuity floors.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Bedside experience within the last 6 months
• Travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Current ACLS and BCLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Facility Information

• 24 hours of orientation provided
• EPIC charting system
• Navy scrubs required

This 91-day assignment begins June 1, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,262.82.
