NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

Opportunity:

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts required
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays required as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Scheduling managed by manager or scheduler; no self-scheduling
• Must have Level 4 NICU experience (Level 1 or 2 experience will not be considered)
• Must have at least one prior travel assignment
• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in a Level III-IV NICU required
• NCC Neonatal ICU RN certification preferred
• Must have recent experience with trach patients
• EPIC EMR experience required; must be noted on submission packet
• Medication system is Pyxis
• Patient ratios: 1:1-3/4 based on acuity
• Ancillary assistance: 1-2 PCTs per shift
• Floating required within the ICU cluster (NICU, PICU, and Burn); travelers are first to float
• May float to other units including PICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, and IMU
• 2-3 days of orientation and specialty testing expected
• Facility dress code must be followed
• Patient population includes 23-week micro-premies, VLBW, complications of prematurity, general surgeries, chronic lung, bleeds, spina bifida, diaphragmatic hernia, NEC perforation, gastro, cleft lip/palate/mandible, transfers from surrounding Level II NNICUs, PDA ligations, and body cooling
• Average patient length of stay is 40 days
• Equipment includes GE, Servo, Kangaroo Care, ECMO, Nitric Oxide, HFOV, Jet Vent (occasional), and IMV
• Respiratory therapists manage ventilators; respiratory and anesthesia available for support
• Advanced Practice providers present on the unit
• Required certifications: NRP, BLS
• Active Arkansas or Compact nursing license required upon offer
