Respiratory Therapist Job in Carbondale, IL

Memorial Hospital of Carbondale is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning December 14, 2026, offering $2,235 weekly pay.

About the Role

You will evaluate patient outcomes and implement changes to the plan of care as part of a multidisciplinary team. Working on night shifts, you will provide direct respiratory care as ordered by physicians while maintaining clear communication with medical and nursing staff. Your responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of respiratory care interventions for your assigned patients.

Your Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust respiratory care plans within the multidisciplinary care team
• Provide patient and family education on respiratory disease processes, intervention procedures, and discharge planning
• Accept reassignment to other units as needed
• Deliver respiratory care interventions per physician orders
• Share clinical knowledge with staff and students, modeling best practices in respiratory care
• Maintain effective communication with medical and nursing colleagues

Qualifications

You must hold an Associate's degree and maintain current certifications and licenses including RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist), Illinois state license, BLS (Basic Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
