Med Surg RN Job in Weirton, WV

WVU Weirton Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Medical Surgical unit. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning June 11, 2026, with a weekly pay rate of $2,229.12.

Schedule & Expectations

• 3x12 rotating shifts covering both day (7:00 AM–7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) hours
• Every other weekend requirement
• Possible inclusion in holiday rotation
• No call or standby obligations
• Schedule flexibility managed by your unit manager for requested time off

Clinical Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5–7 on days, 1:6–8 on nights
• Titrate drips including heparin, Bumex, and Lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• Float to other Medical Surgical, MS-Telemetry, or Intermediate Care units as needed
• Common patient diagnoses: pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness
• Charting via EPIC

Requirements

• Current RN license and BLS certification
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• BSN not required
• Reside within 50-mile radius of facility
• Valid, unexpired driver's license

Onboarding

• 1 day orientation with educator and computer systems training
• 1 day orientation with preceptor
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
