PACU Registered Nurse Job in New Orleans, LA

You'll provide direct patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans, supporting a high-volume surgical facility with 34 operating rooms across 2 floors. Your role encompasses pre-operative assessment, Phase I and Phase II recovery care for patients of all ages—from neonates and infants through pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

Your clinical responsibilities include:

• Managing patient recovery in a 1:2 patient ratio
• Administering and monitoring regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
• Floating to the pediatric PACU section as needed, which operates 6 ORs, 2 cystoscopy suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and prep/recovery for CT and MRI
• Supporting major surgical services including cases from Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab
• Operating specialized equipment: Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, Accuvein devices, and Sapphire pumps for peri-neural catheters
• Charting in the Epic system

You'll work three 12-hour day shifts per week with 2–3 scheduled weekends (Saturdays) during the contract period.

Requirements: Minimum 2 years of PACU experience; Critical Care Post-Op experience is preferred. You must hold current ACLS, BLS (AHA), and PALS certifications. Travel healthcare experience is required. Comfort with floating across unit types and managing diverse patient populations is essential.

Assignment details: 91-day contract beginning July 13, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,044.80.
