Job Details:

• Implement treatment plans appropriate to each patient's learning style and therapeutic needs
• Communicate goals with patients and/or family members while considering psycho-social, cultural, and spiritual needs based on the plan of care developed by the Occupational Therapist
• Provide therapeutic interventions for a wide variety of physical and/or functional limitations including musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, and developmental impairments
• Document patient progress with measurable and functional goals
• Maintain patient records according to hospital policy, completing evaluations, re-evaluations, progress and treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries within departmental time guidelines
• Assist in adjusting schedules to accommodate changes in departmental caseload
• Meet with Occupational Therapist on a regular basis to discuss patients and set goals
• Contribute to overall department performance through professional development strategies including competency training, clinical instruction, in-service coordination, program leadership, attendance of meetings, mentoring new hires, and performance improvement initiatives
• Demonstrate continued professional growth by setting goals and participating in education offerings
• Independently achieve and maintain CEUs for SC LLR licensure
• Communicate with physicians, other medical personnel, and interdisciplinary medical team members regarding treatment provided, patient progress, complications, recommendations, and clarification of orders
• Utilize appropriate health and safety equipment to protect both patients and staff
• Ensure an orderly, clean, and safe work area
• Required certifications: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant/Licensed - State, Basic Life Support (AHA)
