PCU Registered Nurse Job in Roanoke, VA

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting June 29, 2026, with a weekly pay of $2,142.

Shift Details

• 3x12 night shifts: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block
• One holiday per 13-week contract
• 24-hour orientation provided

Unit Overview

You will work in a hybrid unit with 10 PCU beds and 2 ICU beds. Patient ratios typically run 1:5 with a goal of 1:4. You may work without CNA support and will float within your skillset as needed.

Patient Population and Responsibilities

You will manage patients with DKA, COPD, sepsis, suicide/overdose, chronic respiratory failure, and renal failure. Your daily responsibilities include:

• Cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management
• Respiratory support including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Care for chronic trach and vent patients
• Remote telemetry monitoring with tele sitting implementation

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Ventilator experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• EPIC charting experience required
