Job Details:

• Provide competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in an ICU setting
• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting
• Perform patient assessments including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs for patients with complex problems
• Develop and update individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients and families
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems including population-appropriate physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Perform bedside point of care testing as required for patient care plans
• Organize and prioritize care according to patient and family needs
• Consult with appropriate resources in a timely manner regarding patients with complex care issues or high-risk discharge planning needs
• Communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care and participate in interdisciplinary team discussions
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families
• Identify and address cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives
• Identify learning needs of self and attend education programs accordingly
• Utilize healthcare organization nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care
