Opportunity:

Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech

Job Details:

• 3x12 rotating day/night shifts from 6:50 AM to 7:20 PM and 6:50 PM to 7:20 AM
• Call required - 3 shifts per 6-week period
• Every third weekend required
• Float between Labor & Delivery and Women's Health units
• Assist with obstetric and gynecological surgical procedures including cesarean deliveries, emergent hysterectomies, cerclage, and D&C
• Set up sterile equipment, sterile field, and surgical tables; check equipment functionality and ensure instrument integrity
• Assist with room turnover and sterilization of OR and Labor & Delivery environments
• Collect blood and urine specimens; identify, label, and transport specimens appropriately
• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), personal hygiene, mobility, nutrition, toileting, and positioning
• Measure and record vital signs, intake/output, height/weight, and other clinical data
• Perform venipuncture, EKGs, specimen collection, Foley catheter and perineal care, and simple wound care
• Support care team during vaginal births; prepare instruments and treatment areas
• Maintain equipment such as fetal monitors and infant warmers
• Ensure patient dignity, privacy, and comfort; provide 1:1 observation when necessary
• Order, receive, stock, and distribute supplies and equipment; ensure sterile integrity of supplies
• Maryland CNA license required (pending MD CNA license accepted with proof of application)
• Completion of an accredited Surgical Tech training program required
• Must have Labor & Delivery and scrub experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
• Required certifications: BLS, CST, CNA
• Required skills include: aseptic technique, C-sections, instrument processing, sterilization/disinfection, vaginal delivery, wound care, and specimen handling
