Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Every other weekend requirement
• Floating to other units is expected at times
• 40 hours of orientation required
• 1 year of experience required
• Previous surgical experience required for this fast-paced inpatient surgical unit
• BLS certification required
• Required to work holidays based on RTO policy: if one holiday falls in assignment expect to work it, if two holidays expect to work one, if three expect to work two
• Cannot guarantee block scheduling but can try to group shifts together if available
• Care for patients with general surgery, abdominal surgery, urological surgery, orthopedic surgery, hysterectomy, mastectomy, spine surgery, and bariatric surgery
• Will accept pediatric surgical patients aged 12 and above depending on surgical procedure
• Care for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Skills required include accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, feeding tube care, heparin administration, insulin management, PCA, PICC line management, phlebotomy, wound care, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Zero tolerance policy for THC with drug screening required
• Fit testing required with facial hair restrictions
• General RN orientation occurs every other Monday
