Med Surg RN Job in Weirton, WV

You'll work as an RN on the Medical-Surgical unit at WVU Weirton Medical Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting June 12, 2026.

Schedule and Pay

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• May rotate into holiday coverage
• $2,229.12 per week
• No on-call or standby duties

Your Role

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5–7 on day shifts
• Titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix (no cardiac drip titration)
• Float to other Med-Surg, Med-Surg-Tele, or IMC units as needed for lower-acuity patients
• Care for common diagnoses: pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness

Orientation and Onboarding

• 1 day with educator and computer system training (EPIC charting)
• 1 day with preceptor
• Schedule built by manager with flexibility for requested time off

Requirements and Qualifications

• Current RN License and BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year nursing experience
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must reside within 50-mile radius of facility
• Unexpired driver's license required
• BSN not required

Additional Details

• Navy blue scrubs for RNs
• Rotating shift spreads over 2-week periods (2 weeks days followed by 2 weeks nights)
