Job Details:

• Work day shifts from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• 16-week assignment (non-negotiable duration)
• Must have 2+ years of recent histology experience
• Epic experience within the last 12 months required
• High school diploma with 2 years laboratory experience OR Associates degree with 2 years histology experience required
• Registry certification or eligibility at technician level preferred
• Perform standard and specialized laboratory procedures preparing tissue, biological materials, and body fluids for microscopic examination
• Pick up and receive tissue specimens, assist with research procedures, and properly label specimens
• Use dehydrating, fixing, infiltrating, and paraffin solutions for specimen processing
• Embed specimens into paraffin blocks using microtome to cut tissue sections to specified thickness
• Mount tissue sections onto glass slides and perform routine and special staining procedures
• Prepare stains and solutions following established procedures and safety protocols
• Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure adequate inventory of supplies
• Keep detailed records, slide files, and tissue blocks per procedure manual requirements
• Answer phone calls and provide technical information as appropriate
• Maintain work areas in clean and orderly condition
• Assist with orientation and training of new personnel
• Physical demands include lifting 20-50 pounds occasionally and 10-25 pounds frequently
