PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

RN - PACU

Job Details:

• Work 10-hour shifts with variable start times of 6:00 AM, 7:30 AM, or 8:00 AM
• Standard shift hours are 5:30 AM to 4:30 PM with a random day off per week
• 4 shifts of cancellation allowed per 13-week assignment
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements
• Must be able to cross over between PACU and POHA as they function as one unit
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of preop experience in outpatient or inpatient setting
• Common patient population includes hands, orthopedics (total joints), foot and ankle, sports medicine, and pain procedures
• Willingness to assist with nerve blocks and spinals preferred; training provided
• May be asked to float to PACU area or other campuses including Nampa, Meridian, and Boise locations; travelers are typically first to float
• Travelers are asked to be flexible and help fill gaps in permanent staff scheduling
• Schedule is provided 4 weeks at a time; block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Charting system: Epic; ability to test out of Epic orientation class
• Orientation includes 2 days of general orientation and 1-3 days with a preceptor
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA)
• Scrub color: any color permitted; no artificial nails allowed; long-sleeve shirt permitted under scrub top; no jackets
• BSN not required; valid state license required for submission
