About this role

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a 13-week travel assignment. You will work the night shift, providing respiratory care across multiple patient populations and hospital departments.

  • Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with 36 guaranteed weekly hours (48 hours available with manager approval). Weekend and call coverage as required by the facility.
  • Compensation: $1,971 per week.
  • Start Date: July 6, 2026.
  • Location: Saint Louis, MO.

Requirements:

  • RRT licensure with Missouri Board for Respiratory Care.
  • BLS and ACLS certification from AHA (required); PALS preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience with adult critical care and high-volume, busy ED trauma exposure.
  • Ability to perform blood gas draws, process blood gases on GEM equipment, and interpret results.

Clinical Scope: You will care for respiratory patients throughout the hospital, including SICU, CCU, CVICU, ED, Neuro, and Trauma units. Equipment you will use includes Avea ventilators, LTV transport ventilators, V60 BiPAP with Bellavista, Vapotherm, and Airvo high-flow systems. Patient ratios are managed by a point-based system dependent on staffing levels.

Additional Details:

  • EMR system: EPIC.
  • Dress code: Black Mercy standard scrubs.
  • Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption required November 1–April 1.
  • Float and call requirements as determined by facility needs.
