About this role

CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital San Marcos is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist II to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You will work 5 days per week on 8-hour day shifts for a 91-day assignment starting September 7, 2026.

Your Role

You will prepare the cardiac catheterization lab, equipment, and supplies for procedures while maintaining sterile technique throughout. Daily responsibilities include room checks, supply stocking, patient scheduling review, and accurate data entry into cath lab computer and imaging systems. You will ensure proper procedure documentation, hemodynamic measurements, and ECG recognition.

You will set up and operate specialized cath lab equipment including imaging systems (IVUS, ICE), contrast injectors, hemodynamic monitoring, intra-aortic balloon pumps, rotational atherectomy devices, thrombectomy equipment, and left ventricular assist devices. You will manage access site care and serve as the radiation safety representative for patients and staff.

As a Level II technologist, you will mentor Technicians and Technologists I and serve as a resource for advanced procedures including structural heart interventions, IABP support, Impella devices, and LVAD management.

Requirements

  • Allied Health Professional degree (Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or healthcare-related field preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology, or Cath/EP Lab
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA)
  • Current PALS certification (AHA) required for pediatric facility work
  • One of the following certifications: RCIS or RCES (CCI); RCS (CCI); R, CI, CV, or VI (ARRT); AB or OB/GYN RDMS (ARDMS); AE RDCS (ARDMS); or RVT (ARDMS)
