PACU - Post Anesthesia Care

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PACU

Job Details:

• 13-week contract assignment
• Shift may vary depending on department needs
• Weekends may be required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers will be accepted
• ICU background and/or strong ER experience required
• PACU experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Treat patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Care for patients undergoing a wide variety of surgical procedures excluding open heart surgery and advanced specialized devices
• Skills include but are not limited to: Phase I PACU care, airway assessment and management, arterial line management, conscious sedation, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, pain assessment and management, PCA pump management, dysrhythmia recognition and management, blood product administration, extubation, central line care and management, chest tube management, IV vasopressors, and management of pediatric patients
